The media were not the only ones to notice and discuss the decision. Actress Ivory Aquino, who plays the roommate of lead character Barbara Gordon in Batgirl, took to Twitter to call out Warner president David Zaslav and tell him what the film means to her and others involved in its production. It later emerged that the studio had held "funeral screenings" for Batgirl and other films that the leadership had decided to sacrifice.

According to DEADLINE, Wiedenfels also noted during the meeting that David Zaslav is "looking for a new head" to manage production projects involving the DC universe. Wiedenfels also acknowledged that putting all of Warner Bros. Discovery's assets together is "more complicated than it first seems," although he believes the combined company as a whole "is making continued progress."
